YOGA NIDRA: TALK & EXPERIENCE

What is Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is an ancient meditation technique which is practical, easy and enjoyable. In Yoga Nidra (also known as Yogic Dreaming) we go from the outer world of sounds and activities systematically, step by step through the body, breath, mind and into the deep subconscious while remaining awake and aware. So you become totally aware of everything around and inside you.

It is the deep state between waking and sleeping, you can program your mind to achieve what you want to achieve in your life. We also connect with your higher consciousness with the help of your spiritual symbol.

Is it a science also?

Today, Yoga Nidra is just what the doctor prescribes for the insomniacs, depressed and the hyper stressed as it is a powerful technique for controlling the body’s relaxation response. It has been proven that a 60-minute Yoga Nidra is equal to 4 hours of deep relaxed sleep which benefits your body and mind. Scientifically, while you are practicing Yoga Nidra, your mind relaxes and your body responds with your left and right brain, plus the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems getting prepared for yogic sleep. Incidentally, Yoga Nidra is also a great auto immunity system booster. It takes us to a place of deep relaxation where all the latent tensions, anxieties and fears are released from the deep subconscious and we can access healing energies.

It is an ideal practice for any psychosomatic illnesses like high blood pressure, heart problems, asthma and diabetes. Infact, Yoga Nidra is a panacea for all ailments as it releases deep seated tensions and anxieties that can be replaced by positive energy and inputs.

How to practice Yoga Nidra

It is as simple and easy as lying down as comfortably as you can on a mat allowing your body and mind to relax. As you practice, you will feel rested after 30 minutes, refreshed and ready for the new. You will let go of your tensions, pain, fears and learn to accept and overcome them. While you are getting prepared for the yogic sleep, the body will automatically scan on its own, relax and energize the nerves making the body refreshed, recharged and balanced while you are exploring the deep subconscious and awakening positivity inside you. You emerge to the conscious levels from a deep restful state and instantly relaxed. Our courses are designed in such a way that you will be re-energized, rejuvenated and everyday will be a new day to embrace, learn, live and enjoy to the fullest.

In the Yoga Therapy conference in Israel (25-26\12\20)

Swamiji will explain what happens when we do Yoga Nidra, from the perspective of western science. She will also explain the yogic psychological view point of how we go systematically from the outer material world through the physical body, the energy body of the breath, the mental bodies of mind and emotions, and into the deepest core of our personality. She will give us a practical experience, through Yoga Nidra, of going through the levels of our being and coming back out again, step by step.
